***WESTERN HEIGHTS NEWS***

We have had a busy and productive first term across the school!

We have had 3 sports field days - Swimming, Krypton Factor and Softball/Tball, where our children represented well with good results and good feedback on their sportsmanship.

School trips have been very successful with the Seniors heading to Cornwallis for their "Big Day Out" and the Junior and Middle School heading to the historical Long Bay (unfortunately our Auckland weather was not the greatest!)

Junior classes have been very flexible and patient with the building happening in their area of the school.  But, as we can already see, the results are going to be well worth the wait!  (see "Community News" for updates on the building progress)

To finish off the term we had a "reveal" of our "twin streams" mural, painted alongside St Doms students with the help of art experts (see picture above of the amazing mural)

Sadly, we loose our senior school teacher Monse Benoit this term.  She is heading down to Wanaka.  We wish her well in her future, we will miss her heaps!

Next term holds lots of exciting learning instore, with our school wide focus being "Water"

COUNCIL 

Here are our newly elected school councillors! 

Each class in the Senior School have elected two class councillors to represent them on our "school council".  The children selected will be given opportunities to lead discussions and investigations on making our school the optimum learning environment for the kids.  They will be responsible for some school fundraising, discos etc.
