Week 5, Term 4

Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of the school,

Jump Jam National Competitions

The girls performed so well at the Jump Jam Nationals last weekend and we are extremely proud of them.  Both teams placed!

The Year 4-6 Team came 5th in their category out of 15.

The Year 1-4 Team came FIRST!!!!

On the following Monday, at a special assembly, the teams received a rose each and bouquets were given to Jenna Aalbers and Nikita Grindle, the teachers who coached.

2011 Audit And Review Report

ERO were impressed with the learning culture we have here at school.

ERO, Education Review Office said in this year’s report:

Children are making good progress in their learning and classrooms are busy and active.

They said students are articulate and trusting and feel they are respected as learners.

They exhibit a sense of wellbeing and are quick to offer support to others when needed.

Students are keen to contribute and engage in learning activities.  They enjoy positive relationships with their teachers and support each other through the understanding of the Western Heights Way which embodies the schools social values and expectations.

ERO was very complimentary about the support the community gives to the school and that parents remain confident the school continues to offer positive and nurturing learning experiences to their children.

Maori and Pacifica students are performing well and fit with all the other students’ assessment results.

They complimented the school on its inclusive culture.

I have put this information in our 2011 year book which is presently at the last stage of preparation for publishing.

There will be a limited number available for those who have yet to order.  When we receive the yearbook, a notice will be sent home for late orders.

Congratulations
