Week 9, Term 2, 2010

Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of the school,

Winter is well and truly upon us!  I realise that I am stating the obvious however, please ensure that children have layers of clothing which they can put on or take off depending on the activity they are doing at the time.

National Standards continue to be a focus for schools and Team Leaders have been attending workshops on the various aspects of this so that they can disseminate the information to our teachers to support them with the implementation of these.  Our Parent Teacher Conferences are next Thursday, 24 June, and I hope that you will all take this opportunity to share in your child’s “Student Led Feedback”.  Children will talk about their progress.  Teachers will explain a child’s levels against the curriculum and how they are progressing towards achieving at the National Standard level appropriate for their age and stage.  You will also be told the ‘next step’ in the learning and how you can help.

I look forward to chatting to you on the day or night.  Keep warm.

Pat Hutton.
