Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of the school,
Congratulations to the new Board of Trustees.
We have had another busy two weeks with special events for the juniors who visited the Waitakere Gymnastics and some of our middle and senior children who participated in the Cross Country at Oratia Primary. We were very proud of their sportsmanship and the gains they made.
The junior children and teachers, arrived back to school not only exhausted after their day but exhilarated! They had pushed their physical boundaries and many had attempted skills that they had not done before.
With the foggy weather upon us, please make sure that children are clothed warmly and are very visible if they are walking to school. Have a great autumn day.

Message from the Chairperson
I would like to thank both the nominees and those who took time to vote in the recent election. The Board is made of 5 parent trustees, a staff representative and the principal. Adam Baker is the staff rep. Although the day to day management of the school is carried out by the principal and the management team, the Board of Trustees has the overall responsibility for the school, including meeting certain legal obligations, personnel, responsibility for property, financial management, reporting to the Ministry and school community, and meeting national requirements set by the Ministry of Education. Our board is made up of parents who care deeply about our school and its students and who have offered to volunteer their time, knowledge and expertise. We meet twice a term, the meetings are public and visitors are most welcome. I am happy to chat with you at any time.
Regards
Trudi Brocas

University of Auckland Research on Children’s Behaviour
Are you concerned about your child’s behaviour? Is your child aged between 3 and 5 years old? Do you experience problems dealing with: Fighting and aggression or establishing good bedtime routines?
The University of Auckland is conducting research on the effectiveness of two separate 2-hour discussion groups aimed at supporting parents to develop positive strategies to deal with difficult behaviours in preschoolers and improve overall family functioning.
Two groups are on offer: one aimed at managing fighting and aggression, and one aimed at dealing with bedtime problems & developing good bedtime routines. Parents can participate in only ONE of the groups which will be held at our centre at the Faculty of Education, Epsom.
The group is free of charge and you can keep all the materials that are given to you. You will also be asked to complete a series of questionnaires as part of the study.
If you are interested in volunteering for this research project or would like further information, please contact Cathy and Marcela on 623 8899 ext. 83042 or via email: tprg@auckland.ac.nz. For more information on Triple P, please visit: www.triplep.net.
