Week 3, Term 2, 2010

Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of the school,

Another week nearly gone!  Newsletter is out early this week due to our NZEI meeting which teachers are expected to attend.

Our whole school cross-country was held on Monday and it was pleasing to see the enthusiasm with which the children participated.  I also think that they demonstrated better fitness (not so out of breath) and perhaps this is due to the regular Jump Jam sessions which the children appear to enjoy so much.

Jo Ann Yukich and I are taking our School Council to the Young Leaders Day on Thursday where they will listen to motivational speakers such as Pippa Wetzell (TVNZ Breakfast Presenter), Nick Tuitasi, Rob Harley (TV Documentary Maker) and Dayna Vawdrey and Matt Gibb (Studio 2 Presenters).

I want to thank the parents who continue to support us by giving up regular time to help with Book Club, sports teams, putting readers away, Friday sausage sizzle, etc.

Have you visited our Enviro garden behind the swimming pool? If you wish to spare a little time to help with this, please see Dana Taylor in Room 5.
