Week 11, Term 2 2010

Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of the school,

It is hard to believe that it is the last week of the term, I keep wondering where the time has gone!

I have really enjoyed my role as Acting Principal and I wish to thank the staff and the BOT for the support that they have given me over this time.  I believe that it is the partnership between home and school (as seen by the Parent Conferences last week) that will ensure our children will succeed in their everyday life.

With the holidays upon us here is a little wisdom from the book ‘Furry Logic’:

“The quickest way for a parent to get a child’s attention is to sit down and look comfortable.”

I welcome back Sandra next term.  I know that she has missed us.  Have a safe holiday,

Pat Hutton.

Book Club

We desperately need more parents or grandparents who can give an hour and a half one morning a week to listen to children read.  Full support or training will be given.  Please contact the office with your name and phone number or email me on: path@westernheights.school.nz

The School Council wishes to thank all the families who supported the school disco on Friday night and many thanks to Jo-Ann Yukich for the organisation.
