General:
- Before and after school – We foster independence. Please support us by encouraging children to carry their own school bag, unpack / pack and organise themselves before the school bell. Children arriving before 8 o’clock need to be at ‘Before School Care’. This is valuable preparation time for teachers as well as attending various meetings.
- Homework – Quality work is expected and all activities completed as per teacher expectation. To promote self organisation and good work habits we suggest they have a “homework pencil case’’, dictionary resource and atlas at home. Basic facts, spelling practise and reading are daily activities.
- Reading materials to be returned daily.
- Clothing and footwear – please label all items so that lost property is easily identified and claimed. Hats not necessary in Terms 2 & 3. Appropriate clothing for season and sport activities would be appreciated.
- Cross Country Running – Children who find it difficult to run all the way, can ‘Power Walk’.
- Asthmatics – Remind your child if they have asthma or use an inhaler, of correct usage and procedures e.g. Does your child need it for cross country running?
- Gymnastics Club – Depending on hall availability (classrooms under construction) - will begin on Thursdays this term during part of lunch time. Children need to wear appropriate clothing e.g. tracksuit, shorts and leotards. No jeans or skirts.
