Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of the school,
The Enviro group planted 50 native trees in the school bush area with the help of some keen adults. The bush area is developing into a quiet outdoor teaching space.
If you would like your children to plant trees in this area, do contact Jo-Ann Yukich and she will advise you of the type of tree you could bring along. Planting can be done during school hours if this suits you. I was at Meadowbank school this month and their bush area has really grown with this type of community support.
Building Report
Most of the children walked through the new administration area last Friday and were very excited about what they saw. The new staffroom site is now fenced off by the hall, making the back entrance to the hall the only way to enter. Everyone continues to show patience and is very excited that the completion of the project is in sight.
Safety Outside the School Gate
Mrs Hodder is the teacher managing the after school chaos at the school entrance and she is generally happy with the patience that is being shown by parents and others driving into school. The most positive aspect she has noted lately is the parents who are now coming a little later to collect their children because this means the 3p.m. rush has been lessened. We do want to keep our excellent record of safety in our car parking area.
Soccer Success
The Ranui 9th Grade soccer team, the ‘Stormers’, won their league this season. They have been unbeaten for the last two years. Alex Harris and Stacey Kirby of Western Heights are members of this successful team. Well done!
