Week 7, Term 4 2008

Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Friends of the school,

School is a very busy place at present and as the end of term draws near we have many events as we lead up to Christmas. The open evening for our art exhibition and concerts was well attended by friends and families of the school.  The feedback was very positive and it was nice to be able to open the school to you all in a low key way.  No fundraising, formal, school disabling event.  Thank you all for coming.

Wellington

The school council had an amazing time while in Wellington this week.  They spent five hours over two visits at Te Papa and were inspired by their tour of parliament buildings.  They did not see John Key but were equally impressed to be in the Beehive carpark to see his car.

They saw four tuatara in the wild, at the Karori Wild Life Reserve and had iced chocolate at Kirkcaldie and Stains with  Fifi Colston, a children’s author and TV personality.  While waiting at the airport, they asked me what was the best thing about the trip and I said ‘Watching you all enjoying every part of the experience.’

Our two evening meals were sponsored by Waitakere Architects.  Thank you Colin Pauling.
