Week Ten, Term 3 2008 

Kia ora parents, caregivers and friends of Western Heights Primary, 

The school will be closed for two weeks from next Monday 28 September.

The last term has some wonderful learning opportunities planned for the pupils.  We begin with an Art Intensive in week 2.

The senior school have a school camp at Stedfast Park, Piha in week 4, starting November 3.

The cultural group are performing at Corbans Art Centre at 9.30a.m. Friday 14 November.

The school council are off to Wellington for several days from Sunday 23 November.

The year six pupils have their graduation lunch on Friday 12 December.  This will be followed in the evening with a pool party.

Chinese lessons after school will continue next term.  If you are interested please call Mr Bill Wong on 836 5166.

Fund Raising

Unfortunately all schools rely a lot on family donations and fund raising to enhance the programmes and resources here at school.We currently have some business partners who are willing to help our fund drive.

Mantra Indian Restaurant is a supporter of Western Heights School.  Please note and take advantage of the voucher that has come with this newsletter.  The restaurant is in the Henderson shops just above the Henderson Valley Road lights.  It has an A Grading and offers outstanding, delicious Indian cuisine.

United Travel in Te Atatu is offering 0.5% commission to the school on any travel booked by you through them.  This is their way of supporting the community that supports them.

School Council Disco

The school council, as part of their fundraising for their trip to Wellington, are having discos for all areas of the school.  This is now being held on October 17.  More details have been sent out.

Please note there is no Sausage Sizzle this Friday.
