#4 - Week 7, Term 1, 2008
Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Friends of the school,
Have you visited our website lately? Nadia Hutton is our web manager and has been part of a redesign with our Web Company VIVID. The result is stunning and the feedback we are receiving is very positive. Two separate emails from British teachers have asked if we have teaching positions as a result of looking at the website. Our newsletters, Board of Trustees reports and local communications are included and schools trips are reported with photos and children’s work, when available. There is a calendar of events. Do encourage your children to go to the site. The latest news on the Sturges Bridge development is on the website just now.
March Testing Madness
This is the time of the year when ‘testing’ is being done in all rooms. The assessment of students to improve teaching and learning is a critical factor in our school. We use the information to identify the next steps for teaching at an individual, class or programme level. While this is happening quite often the ‘normal’ day to day programme is disrupted and we apologise for this but it is important. We are part of a cluster of schools in an Extending High Standards Contract and so we have some additional information that has to be gathered using an assessment tool designed by Auckland University. Things should be back to normal at the end of the week.
