Class Space 5

Welcome to C.S. 5's webpage. This term, we are studying Night and Day. We are using inquiry based learning to find out what we already know about Night and Day and we've brainstormed questions that we want to find answers to during our study. We wondered whether the sun hides in the Waitakere Ranges during the night and comes back out during day time. We'll have to wait and see whether this could be true...

During Week 6, we're off to the Museum to see the Dinosaur Exhibition. We're already practising to sketch dinosaurs and will be making a dinosaur calendar very shortly. Once we've finished that, we're going to paint wonderful dinosaur paintings!

Everyone is going to say a speech this term about something that we're interesting in. Mrs. Emson's favourite animal is a cow, so we think she'll be talking to us about them. She told us that cows eat grass and make milk. How can that be???

One of the really great things about the fourth term, is that we get to learn how to skip really well. We've been busy trying to learn new tricks so that we can show them off in Week 5 for the Jump Off morning.

If you see any beanstalks growing in C.S. 5, don't worry, there aren't any giants at the top of them. We're all keeping our fingers crossed that they will grow in time to eat for Christmas dinner.

Have a great term and remember to be kind to each other.

Love from

Class Space 5, Mrs. Emson and Mrs. M-R.
