Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Friends of the schoolWe had a hugely successful Grandparents Day here in the Junior School last Friday. The Juniors topic of study has been a history unit around toys, nursery rhymes and traditional stories enjoyed a hundred years ago.The Grandparents found school quite a different place to when they went to school. The teachers relationship with the students and the independent confident way the pupils went about their learning was noted and praised.Thank you to those parents and family who were able to come to school and take part in the celebrations.I have just become a grandparent for the first time and I look forward to being supportive of my granddaughter on such occasions in the future. Photos of the day are on our website www.westernheights.school.nz
Road SafetyThere has been some concerns over children crossing towards the shops from the upper section of Sturges Road. Do talk to your children about how they should cross in that area, as the traffic is getting very busy in the morning. I will be talking to this group as well.
Shop For Your School The dockets are coming into the school via the children. There are boxes in each syndicate for these. There is also a box at the office.
