Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Friends of the school,
I can’t believe that we only have two weeks to go until we finish school for the summer holidays. Our last day of the term is Thursday 20 December and we close at 12.30p.m. After school care is available that day but do contact Liz on 836 0553 to confirm a place for the afternoon.
School will open again on Monday 4 February. The office will be open the week before but stationery will not be available until the following week. Stationery forms will be given out the first day back.
The teachers are attending planning meetings at school during the last week of January and we are at a Teacher only day on Friday 1 February.
Dates to Note

Board of Trustees
The Board had their final meeting for the year last week. They were happy to accept the draft budget for 2008 and are excited about the building project being planned. The project includes a new administration area and improved staff facilities. The school has outgrown the present facilities and the new enhanced government staffing means we need working spaces for teachers in their planning /release time. Some days there are teachers ‘testing’ children in every spare space there is. As we have an assessment driven curriculum, areas for teachers and small groups of children is critical. We reviewed the actual meeting procedures and the number of meetings held. Next year BOT meetings will continue to be held on the Wednesday of week 2 and week 8 of each term.

Health & Safety
The pathway which leads up to the hall from the middle of the carpark will be chained all day. The reason for this is that there is excess water run off over the concrete and the path can get very slippery. Please use other entrances.
Sausage Sizzle Helpers - 2008
If you can help, please see Margaret in the school office. Needed on a Friday, from 11a.m. to 1p.m. to cook sausages and hand out. Your help will only be required once a term.
