Kia ora Parents, Caregivers and Friends of the school,
Terry and I finally took some time last weekend to put up a Christmas tree and yes it did take us an hour to untangle the lights (what is it about the lights) but we persevered and now it feels more festive at our house. When our daughters were living at home they always decorated the tree and wrapped the gifts, but now they have ‘trees' of their own and we have to do such jobs. For those families who have moved to New Zealand from the Northern hemisphere during the year you will find it strange to be having Christmas in the summer, but you will ‘hopefully’ enjoy some warm weather and some outdoor fun. Terry and I hope the fish will be plentiful and that the wind is blowing east (sorry east coasters) so we can get out our kite and torpedo at Glinks Gully to catch our dinner.
I would like to thank the staff for their effort and loyalty throughout the year. They are a very professional group of teachers who work so hard for the children and spend long hours here at school preparing their programmes. The Board has been very supportive of the school and this is appreciated.
The staff, Board of Trustees and I would like to wish you all a very happy festive season where you can spend time enjoying the company of friends and family and relax somewhere you like being during the Christmas break.
